$1.40 PER GALLON
That's at least how much we're getting gouged by Halliburton...or KBR...or Altanmia...or Kuwait...somebody! and damnit somebody shouldn't get away with it.
There's already some earlier diaries, some of which I probably gleemed these seeds of thought. After reading these the following occured to me:

What struck me was two lines from the Washington Times piece, ...a lower price from Turkey, which now provides about two-thirds of the gasoline sold in Iraq. and Turkey cannot supply any more gasoline... Army asked Halliburton to buy more gasoline and begin buying Kerosene from Kuwait.
So it sounds like we need to get two thirds of the whole MORE from Kuwait? Which is insane and asinine because according to the Tribune, Halliburton is charging $2.64 for a gallon of fuel it imports from Kuwait and $1.24 per gallon for fuel from Turkey.
That tells me that somebody is screwing me for $1.40 per gallon...hell I wish I could buy gasoline for $1.40 per gallon... and that's somebodies PROFIT. you sonsofbitchs.
Of course as the title to the Washington Post article proclaims: Army Allows Halliburton to Supply Iraq Fuel Without Giving Price Data That way we don't know how much we're paying, or why we're paying however much we are!
So we clear them of any wrongdoing in the $60some million dollar rip-off. Then give them the leeway to buy MORE!...from that same source that was apparently not ripping us off, just charging us $1.40 per gallon more. My first question... Am I, the taxpayer forking over my loot to pay for this clusterfuck, getting reimbursed that $60some million somewhere?!?! who got that money first off. Second off... people are debating whether Pete Rose should be reinstated after admiting he lied, betted, etc etc etc... but apparently after some huge rip-off, without question, we allow them to continue to rip us off.
But this time it's different... BECAUSE IT'S FOR MORE!!! Damnit.
Turkey can't give us any more...does that affect the price of my gas here? And how much more are we getting from Kuwait? Two-Thirds More? Doesn't that make it ALL OF IT? At $1.40 per gallon more?!?!
Halliburton bought 61 million gallons last year from Kuwait??...keep in mind it's a short year. We got bit $1 million a gallon sounds like... They imported 179 million from Turkey. We can't get that anymore. so we get that from Kuwait at $1.40 more per gallon?? If my math adds up we'll be getting overcharged $250 million dollars next year in Iraq?? at least that much, since we won't be privilaged to see the price data of any future acquisitions??
What's going on?? Where am I?? What country is this??
It'd be nice to see some mainstream media pick this up more...
