I am so relieved that, while we must continue to fight this bastard and his handlers every step of the way to the election, the first debate was
a major victory for John Kerry. Let's make sure during the coming days that no one forgets that. Bush was a smirking schoolboy when he wasn't busy insisting on a 30 second rebuttal and then looking like "deer caught in the headlights" (as my daughter likes to put it).
MoveOnPac.org sent out an email asking us to write our letters to the editor. If you aren't on their mailing list, I encourage you to go to their site and get active on this. They also had a link in their email to this poignant site:

General Wesley Clark (what a GREAT man!) is supporting this group, called the Band of Sisters. They need our support to. Please visit their site, watch their rapid response video and encourage your friends to do so to. Thanks!
More below the fold...
One of the better personal moments of mine was that my 11-year-old daughter wanted to watch (most) of the debates with me and my wife, Robin. Jodie came in a bit late, but we were recording the debate on DVR, so we could pause it and rewind a bit and explain our reactions to various events.
At the end of the debate I noticed that Jodie, who is always drawing, had done a couple of political cartoons. I put them up last night in a diary, but I hope no one will mind if I link them in again here...
I know I am way too close to be objective, but I loved them and encouraged her to scan them so we could share them here. My apologies to those of you that have already seen them. The diaries were going pretty fast last night (they still are!) and mine scrolled off the list pretty quickly.
Jodie is always surprising me like that. My son, Luke, is 16, with a "mind of his own", so he's trying hard to give Dubya a fair shake. Oh well, at least he doesn't have the chance to make the mistake of actually VOTING for monkey boy. Actually Luke is a Kerry supporter. He just likes to argue with his Dad... Maybe, if I can stay out of the way, he'll still turn out ok politically.. He's a good kid and he means well.
