Here's a little change of pace (venting welcome):
I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that this election is the most ironic in our country's history. Between bush's black-is-white orwellian language, the fantasy world he's created, his (and kerry's) "flip-flops" and everything else that has happened, it seems that everything that happens is the exact opposite of what one would expect.
below the fold is a list of this campaign's greatest ironies. please feel free to add your own (its a good way to relieve stress).
Oh, the irony...
*the white house says bush is the type of guy that means what he says, then bush says he will never stop finding ways to harm our country.
*conventional wisdom holds that bush will be better in the war on terror than kerry, and yet the people in the country's major targets - NYC, DC, SF, LA, chicago - will all be voting overwhelmingly for kerry.
*Iran has endorsed bush and thus his "freedom is on the march" platform, in spite of the fact that iran could be the next country to be invaded. and also, what the hell does iran know about freedom?
*the decorated war hero's reputation is being slandered, while the president, who barely served in the national guard during the same war, is seen as honorable.
*the bush administration seeks to import flu vaccine from canada, a country who's prescription drugs were deemed unsafe by bush.
well, that should be enough to start...
