So, now that the election is over and our policy types get to talk to congress, it is apparently safe to admit the obvious. The Iraq war is a training ground for terrorists. A just released Reuters story quotes Goss in front of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence as follows:
"Those jihadists who survive will leave Iraq experienced in and focused on acts of urban terrorism. They represent a potential pool of contacts to build transnational terrorist cells, groups and networks," Goss said. "The Iraq conflict, while not a cause of extremism, has become a cause for extremists," he said.

How many nanoseconds until Goss is brought back on the reservation? How many nanoseconds later until Bush says something about how his Man Date immunizes him from criticism? How many nanoseconds until the legions of enabling yes-men (and women) and apologists on the right try to justify creating a terrorist training ground even though it's not really a terrorist training ground? . . . . .
