Forget about the Bin Laden video (the video ain't gonna change nothin' about Tuesday's outcome... It's akin to the cheerleader that you already knew was in the stadium flashing her breasts to distract the players) and let's get back in the game.
We have a big problem coming up on Tuesday regarding the "exit polls" and it stems from the fact that there is heavy turnout already in states that have "early voting."
For example, according to an exit poll Quinnepac just did on the 16 percent of Floridians who have already voted, Kerry has 56-percent support to only 39-percent for Bush.
That means that our troops are more fired up than theirs, and are voting early...
And it means that Fox News and other corporate interests who get to play with exit polls on Tuesday are going to be able to abuse the numbers among the 84-percent (or less) of voters who will be in Tuesday's voting universe, in a way that can confuse the nation, and make it seem Bush wins some swing states that he will not win.
Remember how they tricked us in 2000... So I propose the following plan of action to impede such a scenario...
Plan of Action:
1. We should assemble, in one place, a list of all the states that have early voting, and the details (i.e. how many days in advance? Including weekends? Any hard numbers on turnout so far... plus any existing exit poll data on them or data on what percent of Democrats vs. Republicans vs. Independents, compared to the statewide registration counts)... This kind of information will help us make projections in cases where no early exit poll data is available.
2. We need to inventory, in advance, what news organizations will be doing "exit polling" on Tuesday in swing states: On a state by state basis, which polling companies they are using, which are sharing the same consortiums, and which - in the cases of some local TV stations and newspapers - or doing their own exit polling, and to publish that list here.
3. We need to contact, en masse, those news organizations, their editors, their directors, etcetera, and demand to know their methodology, specifically the answers to two questions...
A. "Are you also exit polling early voters, and will you be factoring them in to your exit poll results on Tuesday?"
B. "How, precisely, do you plan to do that? What is your methodology? Do you have exit pollsters in the field already? And if you don't have your own data, what data do you plan to use?
Of course, that involves all the already polished Kossian tactics of publishing those email addresses, the names of the players, etc.
The battle cry is to make the exit pollsters, and the networks and news organizations that sponsor them, accountable... So that all of them know that the eyes of the nation are upon them... That we know their names... That their future credibility is on the line.
That is our only protection against a Florida 2000 scenario where a Fox News plus a Bush cousin behind the curtain can screw with the public perceptions on election night, opening the way for a greater fraud.
