I'm a precinct captain in a predominantly Republican area. (if we get more than 40% in any election, it's a miracle.) Reading about McCain's communication director crossing over to the good side, gave me an idea. You can tell me if it's a good one or not:
I would like to make a sign of all the various prominent Republicans who are voting for Kerry and post it at my polling place. Something respectful, not in-your-face, just a "hey, look, these Republicans are putting country before party, why don't you?" sort of thing. Or "take back the Grand ol' Party from these freaking crazies before it's too late!" kind of thing
So, naturally, I come to Kos. Help me out, people, please. Names of all prominent Republicans who are voting for Kerry. Generals, admirals, politicians, celebrities, etc. Or is there a place where this is already listed?
My original thought was to get one of those Bush dolls in a flight suit and have a banner that says "Quagmire accomplished" but I thought that might be a bit much. My wish is not to piss anyone off or make them defensive; I'm hoping to find some staunch Republicans with genuine feelings of unease and work on them at the very last minute, hopefully convincing them that voting for Kerry is the right thing to do.
