Near the end of last night's debate, my monsterously intelligent fiance made a simple comment... Kerry should have debated Cheney. I have not been able get over this observation and how it has captured the preposterous situation this country is in.
Clear to us, and I would assume most Kossacks, is the fact that Cheney is the evil genius behind the bumbling Bush puppet. However, my girl and I could not agree whether or not it is so clear to Bush supporters. Her opinion is most Bush supporters are just being "polite" by pretending Bush is actually in charge. I believe most Bush supporters are so deluded they might believe the generals let W get near the nuclear football, despite that he can't even handle a pretzel.
Which brings us back to the insane campaign we are witnessing... where a profoundly deficient GWB struggles to not wet himself when debating Kerry, while a competent (yet purely evil) Cheney lies his way to a "draw" with political newcomer Edwards. These debates are sideshows of misdirection, with Bush as proxy for Cheney, Edwards proxy for JFK.
What if John Kerry challenged Cheney to a debate?
