I caught it first over at Freerepublic in a thread gloating over the the 6th Circuit intervening in Ohio to allow Republican challengers to obstruct minority voters. The thread pointed to a Fox news article which claimed that the two District Court rulings banning the practice had been overturned. Google and the usual news suspects had nothing more until the debunking began showing up on Kos.
For that 15 minutes between seeing the Freeper thread and the debunking, I felt a sinking dread, like a bad vision out of Revelations. They are doing it again. They will 'disqualify' enough Democrats to make the election fall off the truck and Republican judges will bless the theft.
Alright, the moment has passed and it looks like paranoia was premature. But damn. The freepers sure were up for it and Fox already had the story written. They may not pull it off but they actually are trying to steal another presidential election.
Please, god and the American people, don't let them get away with it. Vote, protect the polls, go to court and if necessary go into the streets and demonstrate. If none of that is enough, stage a general strike and shut down the country until they count all the votes.
Because if they do it again, it will be time to fight. Not just with words or with soul force but with real force.
I admit it, I am not much of a modern liberal. I do not believe in non-violence. When I joined the Army, the oath was to "support and defend the Constitution of the United States" against "all enemies, foreign and domestic." There was no qualifier to the oath that said 'by non-violent means only.' If the election results are clear, regardless of which side wins, I will support and defend the outcome. But if it is stolen again by those people the time will be here to organize in a different way.
If you steal my country do not expect to live in peace while you feed on the spoils.
