I have been traveling back and forth MA and NH canvassing the past few weekends... Looks like weather over in NH will be cold and damp on E-day. So as we are organizing our "poll greeting" strategy, we thought we will bring treats (donuts, coffee, etc) in the morning, cookie, lollipop (post-Halloween treat for kids) and hot apple cider in the afternoon, with sign saying "Our way to say thank you. Have a treat and a wonderful day!"
I thought maybe volunteers from other swing states can use similar strategy as well.
Florida: (Forecast: Hot and humid) Set up a table, bring cool, chilled bottled drinks, lollipop and sweets. Bring some umbrella and any kind of shades. Anything to keep people stay in line. I know it's hot out there and the line is fucking long, so hang in there. Take care of the elderly.
Ohio/West Virginia: (Forecast: Rain/ Thunder)Looks like it's gonna be a lousy day. Bring lots stadium ponchos/umbrellas. The morning crowd will sure appreciate a hot cup of coffee and donut. Remember, we need to depend on the morning crowd to spread the word of the "kindness" of the democrats to bring other democrats or undecided to us in the afternoon or afterwork. Work the crowd.
Minnesota/Iowa/Wisconsin/Pennsylvania: (Forecast: Partly cloudy, mid 40s. Coffee, donut, cookie, .... whatever you can get.
Colorado/New Mexico: (Forecast: Sunny but cool)High 40s...um...is it always that cold this time of the year in CO or NM?... I have little knowledge on what kinf of treats people can bring to the poll. You guys have to help me out here.
Nevada: (Forecast: Sunny High Low 60s). I was gonna say "bring some chips", but you all know better. =)
Never underestimate the power of a little human touch and generosity. Touching people's heart is the key to our end game. No more shouting/yelling contest. Its not gonna help and we all know that. Good luck and GOTV!
