Trying to seize on the momentum of a presidential election in which moral values proved important to voters, the Rev. Jerry Falwell announced Tuesday that he has formed The Faith and Values Coalition to guide an "evangelical revolution."
Falwell, a religious broacaster based in Lynchburg, Va., said the new coalition will be a "21st Century resurrection of the Moral Majority," the organization credited with creating the "religious right" in the nation after Falwell founded it in 1979.
The Faith and Values Coalition's mission will include ensuring that pro-life conservatives are chosen and confirmed to fill any vacancies that emerge on the U.S. Supreme Court and lower courts, a Constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage and the election of another "George Bush-type" conservative in 2008, Falwell said.

And the hits just keep coming folks. How do we fight an army of faithful who believe their divine duty is to make the 21st century look like Eden? Here we are tearing one another apart, pointing fingers and placing blame. Meanwhile, down on the ranch and throughout the country, the momentum is being built upon. We need to take the fire and momentum we built up and counter what we know is coming. The question is how? The "Christian Right" has one main goal, to make this nation more "Godly." What is our mission, what is our goal? Blackbox voting? Election Reform? A candidate for 2008? I fear if we lack focus, we will be beaten to a pulp by these right-wingers and the religious faction. If we don't band together with a common goal, we will be as good as dead.
Religion cannot rule this land, it musn't. It is too marginalizing yet these people are getting away with it because they have focus, they have a plan. We are the what I like to call the Digital Democrats, we are pioneering, we are smart and we have community but do we have the clear agenda needed to fight this battle?
