The reason many of us want Howard Dean as Chairman of the DNC is because we think the Party is corrupted by corporate cash. Yesterday, one of the featured bloggers here ran an article about credit card companies abusing Americans.

We should use it as a wedge issue against republicans, but we won't. We won't because many of our own leaders take money from MBNA America.

The beauty of Howard Dean chairmanship, was that he had figured out a way to finance campaigns, using small donors. If he were allowed to implement this sort of fundraising party wide, it would have made the party much less beholden to corporate cash so we could make a moral issue out of Credit Card Company abuse, not to mention Enron, not to mention the Iraq War. Don't you suppose defense contractors have more then a little leverage on the issue of Iraq?
Vilsack and Rosenberg would keep things as they are so then we will have to triangulate republican moral issues like Gay marriage and abortion, rather than using our own moral issues against the republicans. Really the dlc would rather sell women and gay people down the river than give up corporate cash.
