Approval for Bush, doubts on key issues says the title.
What it says in the article:
-49% Approval rating, 44% disapproval, relatively the same from two months ago. What a mandate!! Speaking of that, the pollsteer ran with that theme and found
35% of Americans think that Bush has a mandate to change Social Security, 52% say no such mandate on SS.
-Dems favored 39-30 on economy.
- 41-48 less confident/more confident on Iraq outcome, down from 46-41 two months ago.
- This one was interesting: 25% of Americans said 2004 was one of the worst years in American history, 3% thought it was the best. hmmm.
One piece of bad news:
52% believes Bush has a mandate to stay in Iraq as long as need, and 42% feel the GOP would do better in that area, only 27% feel Dems would do better in Iraq. When will people learn? How many more reports do we need to come out on Iraq? I think two more are coming next year. How many more troops need to be injured or killed before people get it? How many more troops need to speak up about the situation there? How many more Republican need to criticize the Iraq handling? So far Lugar, Hagel, Chafee, McCain and Schwarkopf have voiced criticism. Sigh.
