Perspective is needed to understand our path to empire building. It is instructive to listen to the words of another empire's propagandist to understand the mindset of true believers and how the pursuit of power never really changes throughout history.
The diary quote I will post here are from "The Goebbels Diaries 1942-1943" by Louis T. Lochner. I hope you find them as insightful and illuminating as I do. I will continue post Goebbels daily diary quotes in the days ahead in hopes that his words will resonate with those who are concerned with the propaganda and actions of the Bush Administration.

The former Italian Minister of Education, has published an article about which I haven't made my mind up (on) whether it was inspired by Mussolini or directed against Mussolini. He declared...That the Fascist Party must devote itself to service to the people more than before. Social justice was being demanded more and more insistently by the people. Now and then open criticism was quite permissible. Technical knowledge rather than mere good intentions was essential in the ministries. All that, (he) claimed did not constitute criticism but was an indication of Fascist maturity!
