There's nothing more ironic than the discussions about who will lead the Democratic Party. What Democratic Party? If that party existed then surely its candidate for President would have mentioned it by name in his acceptance speech.
The Dems have been taking their constituents for granted for so long that many of us have turned elsewhere or just turned off. They have become irrelevant by concentrating on political food fights with the opposition and pursuing the issue du jour. How about some core beliefs and some steadiness? No, I don't mean moving to the middle; I mean clear, concise statements about what the party stands for and an adherance to them.
Absent that, I'm afraid that the Repubs could run a blind three-legged dog for President and he would be barking the Oath of Office in January.
