Senator Lieberman made more delusional remarks during his tour in Middle East according to
this report filed by AP.
Sen. Joe Lieberman (news - web sites), traveling in the Middle East Wednesday, said there is strong support in Iraq (news - web sites) for the Jan. 30 election...
In a telephone call from Tel Aviv, Israel, the Connecticut Democrat said conditions in Iraq, including an increase in trained Iraqi security forces, have improved since his last visit in July.
More comments by Lieberman...
Lieberman added that the deputy prime minister told them that postponement would present a greater risk.
"Postponement would be taken as a victory by the terrorists and it would be an infuriating result for the majority of the country that wants to vote," Lieberman said. "Nobody thinks this is going to be perfect or neat, but it will be a beginning, a very credible beginning."
In other comments, Lieberman said he spent time Wednesday with soldiers from the 143rd Area Support Group of the Connecticut National Guard. He said about 80 members of the unit are serving there, providing air transport and property management support.
"Morale is high," Lieberman said. "They're serving with a real sense of purpose and they're proud of what they're doing. They are contributing in a difficult circumstance to a historic transformation."
He said he did not hear any soldiers complaining that their vehicles were not fully armored, adding that Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld answered that concern earlier this month.
Lieberman is truly insane. Even G.W. acknowledged the situation in Iraq was worsening not improving.
Not having heard any soldiers complaining about armor yourself does not mean the problem is non-existent. At this stage, nobody in international community is advocating the postponement of the election because the election is basically irrelevant. Nobody cares because nobody thinks it will achieve anything.
Sometimes, a "D" before your name does not necessarily make you sane. Lieberman is an excellent example, his pro-Israel ideology completely shields him from reality. To quote his own words, he's still in that little spider hole of denial.
