This is a thread for gossiping about and analyzing the gubernatorial races in 2006. Please respond with your thoughts and your knowledge of any race.
MA: Romney is certainly weak. AG Tom Reilly is said to be the most likely candidate. What's up here?
NY: Pataki could lose to AG Eliot Spitzer.
MD: Ehrlich could lose to Baltimore Mayor Martin O'Malley.
FL: Jeb can't run again, but who could we run??? I want to control this state again so that we can run the redistricting in 2011.
OH: Taft can't run again, but who could we run???
CA: Arnold isn't as popular as a lot of people think, but it's an uphill battle.
MN: Pawlenty is popular, but beatable. AG Mike Hatch?
AL: Riley is beatable (after all, he barely squeaked by Siegelman in 2002). Who do we run?
AR: How beatable is Huckabee? The legislature, as well as the representation in Congress, is Democrat-dominated, so what can we do here?
CO: How beatable is Owens? The legislature is now thinly Democratic, and the Democrats had a good year overall (gaining 2 seats in Congress and Bush losing ground in the presidential race).
Which Democrats are vulnerable? Napolitano? Rendell? Richardson? Baldacci? Granholm? Henry? Freudenthal? Blanco? Sebelius? I don't know, please clue me in.
