Day by day the mighty wurlitzer and it's billions of propaganda dollars is locking in focus on John Kerry. By the time November comes Michael Jackson will be Harry Truman compared to Kerry.
Isn't it time the Democrats started playing the game like the Republicans? I read somewhere that George W. Bush has never done an interview with the New York Times since he's been president. The first president to do so. He, rightly so, believes that there are battle lines in the media (his major backers are the architects of them). So why are the Democrats still appearing on stations like FOX and shows like Meet the Press when they exist only to serve the Republican cause. Judge for yourself, the Russert interview with Bush on Sunday asked most of the important questions (so you cannot question his integrity) and put these issues on the table but his lack of followup was akin to having a boxer on the ropes and simply walking away. He was also woefully unprepared which proves he had no intent on doing any followup - the whore deal he made with the White House is probably why there were no questions about the Plame case... Compare this interview with the skewering Howard Dean received and you'll see who's side Russert fears retribution from the most. It's time to draw the battle lines. Otherwise you might as well give up right now. Americans believe everything they see on tv.
This should be Kerry's press aid's (and every other Democrat running for office) first words after every interview request: "Either you're with us, or against us". McAuliffe, get off your ass and start leading. This is war Democrats, don't allow partisan hacks like Hume, Russert and Matthews to run your debates. Insist on proven unbiased actual journalists (boy that would be refreshing huh?) from local papers who know the issues and don't get their questions from the RNC.
