Obviously Dean supporters are not going to be in charge of the convention in Boston this year. That's fine, we lost.
But that doesn't mean that the Dean movement has to do NOTHING up there. I think Dean supporters should have the meet-up of all meet-ups in Boston at the same time as the convention.
This should be better organized than the average meet-up, with scheduled talks and speeches by people who were involved at all levels of the campaign even people who lead efforts that weren't successful. Everyone has something to teach us.
We should come out of this with a solid idea of lessons learned, we should know what worked and what didn't, and we should have a better idea of what to look for in a candidate next time around.
We also need a plan to take over the party from the ground up, so we won't have to fight the party leadership next time, because we'll BE the party leadership. We need to field candidates at every level, from dog catcher to school board and on up.
We've had to settle for 'good enough' this time. Next time, we won't have to.
