OK, OK, this is my first diary and here I go sounding hopelessly out of touch. But I just discovered The American Prospect. I've been reading the Nation and Salon for months (John Nichols and Matt Bivens are worth reading at The Nation, Joe Conason and Eric Boehlert at Salon). Harpers is interesting sometimes. And there's TNR...but they just piss me off; Franklin Foer and Jon Chait are...urgherhdf. And I occasionally enjoy Slate. Saleton's such a wise-ass. And Mickey Kaus is just funny. Unless you're a big Kerry fan.
But TAP! How did I not know this journal existed?! The journal of the moderate progressive left: Democratic to the core but anti-DLC. Anti-extremist, pro-moderate reform. I've just discovered three new writers whose weekly columns I could no longer live without.
So what are the best journals out there? What else am I missing?
