Well, it was bound to happen sooner or later. On the
Iowa Electronic Market, Kerry has surpassed Dean's high. Dean got to 76 cents a share before crashing around the Iowa caucus. Here's how it looks as of today:
Kerry: 78 cents
Edwards: 12 cents
Clark: 4 cents
Dean: 3 cents
[This is a Winner-Takes-All market. The contract that denotes the actual outcome of the 2004 Democratic Convention will have a liquidation value of $1.00, all others will have values of $0.00. The Kerry contract will be liquidated for $1.00 after the 2004 Democratic Convention if Kerry is elected by the convention delegates as the official Democratic nominee for the presidency. If he is not named as the Democratic candidate, the liquidation value of the Kerry contract will be $0.00.]
I imagine these figures will look different tomorrow.
