Good News from California.
Humboldt County, California (way up north in the Pacific Coast Rain Forest) finally got to vote on recalling it's Democrat District Attorney, Paul Gallegos, after a massive
recall campaign waged by Houston-based Maxxam Corp, owner of Pacific Lumber Co. Gallegos had the balls to sue Maxxam for various ecological abuses in it's local logging program, and the mega-corporation responded by pouring half a million dollars into a recall campaign. Now the voters have spoken, and the recall was defeated by about 22 points. This is a major victory for democracy and local rule.
