Sorry, not sure if this has been blogged alreay, but Lloyd Grove says today that Bob Woodward of "Bush at War" fame is about to publish a takedown of Bush's terrorism policy. I don't know whether to believe this, but I like Lloyd from his days at those WaPo Friday online gossip chats. Apparently, this book is scathing just as the White House needs it least. John Dean, then Bob Woodward? Are you thinking what I'm thinking?
Also, for the first time in ages I watched the News tonight. I'll get to why in a sec, but in the meantime I had the pleasure of seeing high class whores at work. At one point the anchors on the local news from 5:00 to 6:00 said that Condi Rice's testimony was "unprecedented," then listed several past National Security advisors who hadn't testified under oath before Congress. Only problem was, they named Sandy Berger, and he
did testify. Furthermore, this isn't about Congress. Then they went on to praise Condi's honesty and poise.
Later on, Tom Brokaw, who looks older than when I last saw him, called the UK "America's biggest ally in the War on Terror." So now the Iraq War=War on Terror in the eyes of NBC. Never mind that everyone save our dear allies Saudi Arabia and Pakistan has been firm in their pursuit of terrorists and constant in their involvement in Afghanistan. Their consistency in fighting terror contrasts badly with ours. Selon NBC, the USA is the most anti-terror country, the UK is the second most, and everyone else be damned.
Okay, now to why I watched the news in the first place. A younger friend of mine, a seventh grader at East Side Middle School in Manhattan, told me there would be a report on a science fair at his school. I missed it (if it was on). Did anyone else see it? I want to know whether to watch again tomorrow.
