Thoughts on RhodesNader
Pure and unrestrained anger is not good public discourse. It is not a foundation for long term success. Rhodes treatment of Nader--no matter how out of touch with reality he might be--was wrong. Calling people on poor judgement, mistakes, lies, and hypocrisy is best done in a respectful, intelligent, and strong manner. That is what the Franken show is doing.
If we can learn anything from the Bush Administration it should be that bad methods inevitably lead to bad results. Rhodes attacks may have given a bunch of people hard nipples but what was the grand result? Cheap vindication?
Rhodes was simply mean. No real attempt at humor or intelligent debate. It was malicious for the sake of being malicious. If this is the kind of debate you want then turn on Fox News, vote for Bush, and discover first hand why the Neo-Con world is falling apart. Bad methods inevitably lead to bad results.
P.S. No, I am not voting for Nader
