One diary post.
That's all I can find touting our default candidate. Is this where we are? When our candidate, the guy who we are supposed to vote for to save us from W goes on national television and takes questions from THE premiere television moderator, our reaction is one diary post about someone's brother now going back to Nader's camp?
And what's the reaction to the brother's jumping ship? Fuck him, he' in a swing state. Who cares?
Now, what does all this tell me? I think that its clear. No one gives a good god damn about Kerry. They just hate Bush and want him gone. usmeagle had a post called "Face It. Dean lost." and that's fine, but where is the replacement?
Where is the man, woman or yellow dog that is supposed to get the base fired up and keep us fired up to help him through the hard times? I don't see him. I see a dishrag loser (who I think WANTS to lose) who uses semantics and excuses like his youth (at 27!) to explain away all his past statements, who walks away from his one pitiful and slimy attempt to fight Bush and his band of liars and crooks, who wants to be Bush-lite because like the voters of Iowa and New Hampshire, he thinks that some truck driver in the heartland or some farmer in the south is going to like that he is the centrist.
What is clear to me is that the people here where Kerry should have a built in cheerleading section should be handing out raves for our presumptive nominee seem to understand that Kerry's performance on MTP was less than stellar and only served to reinforce the absolutely correct image that Kerry is a semantics and wiggle room-loving career politician who thinks that he is owed the presidency since he spent his whole life making whatever he thought was the most popular statements of the day were and then explaining those statements and actions away when the popularity waned and America's tastes changed.
Even more clear seems to be that people are starting to wake up to the mistake that Iowan and New Hampshirite voters have put us in by not picking a candidate who will stand up to the media and the Bush Gang.
