He had Michael Rogers on, the guy who is outing gays in high positions.
O'Reilly called this a "sleazy tactic".
But when Mr. Rogers reminded Mr. O that O'Reilly himself had outed a MA judge on his program, O'Reilly's rambling response was:
I didn't do anything. Our guests.. our guests.. We have done many reports, and the guests that came on put it into the perspective that... We didn't do anything. In fact, we have a call in to the judge, she can come in any time she wants. If we got it wrong, we're absolutely willing to have it.
Hmm.. an air-tight denial to be sure. He managed to only trail off 2 or 3 times. Ofcourse Rogers answered with the obvious response:
I'll say the same thing to any of these directors of these organizations who are working against their own communities.
Which didn't appease O'Reilly. So, did a previous guest bring up the judge's sexuality, or did O'Reilly? Here is the first mention by O'Reilly that I can find of this "lesbian judge". It occured last November, before the Massachusetts court had even sent down it's decision:
O'REILLY: (Unintelligible.) Here's why I don't believe it.
One of the judges in the supreme court, you correct me if I'm wrong Mr. Moran, is lesbian, all right?
MORAN: That's the rumor, yes.
O'REILLY: And she apparently voted against gay marriage? Is that true?
MORAN: That's what we hear. She's one of the...
O'REILLY: Right, that's what we hear, too. Because she said I don't have a right to make this law.
MORAN: That's right.
O'REILLY: All right? So she voted against it. She was the swing vote. A lesbian was a swing vote, which is another public relations nightmare for the pro gay marriage jurists, you know, who want to go around. Look, if the folks of the commonwealth of Massachusetts vote, you know how they're going to vote, don't you? You saw the polls.
Notice the guest states it's a "rumor". O'Reilly didn't take well to the NYT rumor on the front page about dropping Cheney, but I guess using a rumor to out a Judge is fine... oh, except now he's decrying the practice when it goes the other way.
And no, he didn't just bring her up once. He brought up the Judge's sexuality on several other occasions, as recently as last week. Every time it was him, not his guest, who brought it up. I did a very expansive search. So no real surprise, just another O'Reilly lie.
