The NV chapter of Dick Armey's corporate astroturf movement,
"Citizens for a Sound Economy", has gotten its "Axe the Tax" initiative
on the state ballot for this fall, along with a measure that would modify the state Constitution so state employees could not serve in the state legislature. (This thanks to a judge granting a 60-day extension to these groups to gather the requisite number of signatures).
These kooky, hot-button issues will almost certainly move quickly to the top of the news and have a wide impact on turnout in the fall.
On the upside, the AFL-CIO sponsored measure to increase state minimum wage by $1 per hr will also be on the ballot.
