According to the All Access Music Group, a news-and-gossip publication that covers the radio industry, Air America Radio will begin broadcasting in Columbus, Ohio, starting Tuesday, Sept. 7.
The station, which broadcasts on the 1230 frequency (WCOL-AM) and had been airing rock oldies, will carry Al Franken, Randi Rhodes (only one hour of her program), Janeane Garofalo and "Morning Sedition" from AAR and Ed Schultz and the soon-to-debut Stephanie Miller from Jones Radio Networks. The new station is billing itself as "AM 1230 Progressive Talk: Talk radio for the rest of Columbus."
The blurb is available here, but registration (and a tolerance for really bad Web design) is required.
