Almost a month ago, I
reported my findings from making note of every bumper sticker I saw during my travels around Greater Cincinnati which expressed an obvious preference for either Kerry or Bush. The totals through the first 100 sightings were
57 for Bush, 43 for Kerry. (Keep in mind this is the conservative corner of Ohio)
Well now my count is up to 200 total stickers, and amazingly, there has been no change whatsoever in the percentages. The count now is 114 for Bush, 86 for Kerry, which equals 57% for Bush, 43% for Kerry.
Take it for what it's worth, but I think it's just another sign that, no matter how the polls fluctuate week-to-week, this race is close, as it has been the entire, time, and will remain until election day.
And if you want some more heartening news, my yard sign count so far favors Kerry, 22 to 18, or 55% to 45%. I always thought yards were more enlightened than bumpers...
