Here is your chance to go on the record predicting what day the Chimp-in-Chief will announce he is releasing oil from the nation's strategic reserves. Clearly a political manuever, I imagine he'll deny this and say he is doing it to boost the economy and stop speculation. This may be a potential October surprise.
There are many considerations regarding the timing of the announcement. For example, the release needs to be timed to have an appreciable effect on equity markets. On the other hand, if oil prices reverse and head even higher after the announcement, Bush is in trouble.
Your thoughts?
BTW I'll take October 18 w/ Drudge citing rumors of a release on Sunday Eve the 17th.

Good News! Bush must be doing poorly in his internal polls. Looks like the pressure is on at campaign headquarters and the team is going to try and smear the oil market and pump the equity market.
