A few of us lonely Dems in the South are trying to get support for an Art Performance, an exhibition of 1,000+ objects.(one for each US war dead.
I wonder if we could get artists to participate in creating some positive "installation -- performance art," Pro-Life, rather than Anti-War. I think the message would come across in a positive light here, rather than death masks, and hard-hitting protest style activities.
In keeping with the positive message of the Kerry Campaign, it would express the lost opportunities, and "what could have been".
Imagine 1,000 small works of art, dedicated to the joy & beauty of life, held up for display on the beach, in the coliseum, or some other location. These could then be auctioned to raise money (for the families?). Those holding the art could all be dressed simply, in white. Grouped around each item & person could be other people, young and old, representing the family and friends whose lives changed forever when their loved one died (involve the local churches?).
The resulting "spin" could draw attention to the difference approaches of Bush and Kerry on the war in Iraq and on the war on terror. This could make national news.
Any suggestions? Feedback?
