I keep seeing Dean referred to here as the about-to-be "DNC Chair". That phrase will not resonate with Mr. & Ms. Joe Sixpack and Soccer Mom. It just sounds like more alphabet soup from Washington.
PLEASE from now on, refer to Dean (at least once it's official) as CHAIRMAN OF THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY. It's not incorrect and actually sounds like it means something.
If people call Dean that, it will give him far greater moral authority and clout in people's minds. Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi may not like it, but it's Dean who has earned the respect of a far larger constituency than they have (although Reid is beginning to earn some respect of his own). Let's call him DEMOCRATIC PARTY CHAIRMAN (
not DNC Chair) and give everyone a "subliminable" reminder of Dean's prominence in the political pecking order -- a prominence he enjoys because of OUR allegiance to him and his ideals.
Dean's title should match his true stature.
