Seeing as everyone who overthrows a government by taking to the streets is justified, why don't American's demand the resignation of GWB? Would this be a just approach? Would this be democracy?
If 40 000 democrats or Anti-government American's took to the streets of Washington and demanded Bush resign would this be a sign of democracy in America?
Just thinking out loud but what would it take to amass 30,000 American's onto the streets of Washington who would be willing to, eventually, march right into Capital hill and demanding the government resign?
It seems rather hypocritical to me that this method of "revolution" is praised in the Ukraine and in Georgia and to a lesser extent Lebanon but if the same were to happen in America surely it would be an act of war or treason; even more so if it were funded by foreigners!
When will Americans, specifically the so called opposition, realize that these are American coups? The latest revolution which seems to have the backing of the World really is just being promoted by France because they want their old colony back.
If the American opposition does nothing to stop this, the same will come back to haunt them.
Power to the people?
For those who are praising what is currently taking place in the Middle East as a sign of democracy I urge you to take a look at what has happened in Georgia and Haiti since their "revolutions".(previous diary) These are not governments for the masses. They amount to governments who will ensure the well being of their allies before the well being of their people.
The time is right for a true opposition party to take hold in America; One who realizes that the success of the world does not depend on the success of the wealthy. Please open your eyes and plan a point of attack against policies of raping and ravaging the uneducated of their natural resources. You, I speak to Americans who believe that their is more than enough resources in the world for everyone to prosper rather than just the wealthy, will never be what you ought to be until the weakest in our world are what they ought to be!
The issue in the end remains the fact that these revolutions are contrary to the idea of sovereign democracies
