WIth the Nuke option on the go, its time for the great Debate Game Show, with your host, the US Senate...now, in final Constitutional Jeopardy...the answer is - Which speaker is a true Christian, a true American and looking out for more than their own personal interest:::
First up, the Man who would be king (or president):::
FRIST, in describing Democratic efforts opposing some of President Bush's judicial nominees: "leadership-led use of Cloture vote to kill, to defeat, to assassinate these nominees."
Next up, a woman who suffered a terrible loss:::
LEFKOW, in describing what happens when people smack down Judges:"In the age of mass communication, harsh rhetoric is truly dangerous...Fostering disrespect for judges can only encourage those that are on the edge, or the fringe, to exact revenge on a judge who ruled against them."
WINNER IS (BELOW THE FOLD)
SMACKDOWN BY LEFKOW!!!!!And our winner recieves, the ultimate respect an admiration by this Country..And our loser recieves, a footnote in history...
Chicago Tribune: In her first major public appearance since a disgruntled plaintiff murdered her husband and mother in her Chicago home, U.S. District Court Judge Joan H. Lefkow today called for better protection for judges.
She also asked lawmakers to repudiate recent "gratuitous attacks" on the judiciary by commentators such as Pat Robertson and by some members of Congress.
"In the age of mass communication, harsh rhetoric is truly dangerous," Lefkow said. "Fostering disrespect for judges can only encourage those that are on the edge, or the fringe, to exact revenge on a judge who ruled against them."
What can you say about a person like Lefkow, who eloquently describes what happened and is happening...seems to me, she is an "activist" judge for the safety and integrity of the judiciary...when she spoke about certain people , including some members of the Legislature, demaning and ripping on judges, and how this can tip someone into doing something evil, I thought about Dobson, Robertson, Frist and the gang going after these people who, I believe, generally try very hard to uphold the Constitution...
Obviously Frist is only echoing the religious right wing base.
Lefkow also pointed out "We don't choose our cases, they come to us."
I let my Senator know that he should read her statements and then decide if Brown or Owens can even rate sitting next to a person like Lefkow.
