The Los Angeles Times
is reporting that HERE (Hotel Employees-Restaurant Employees) has succeeded in bringing a few LA Hotels into line in its effort to time all of its big contracts to end simultaneously, to try and get an industry-wide contract (many contracts, almost identical, signed onto at the same time).
That means there could be a nationwide strike--but it will also make organizing hotels in the future easier, since one standard industry wide contract will make the bosses less fearful of a competitive disadvantage with higher labor costs.
Go support labor workers. They aren't even going to ask for your money.
