It's 6:38 am. I'm watching C-Span2 and I see three of my most despised political opponents doing something actually worthwhile. I'm not kidding. And I don't think I'm dreaming.
They are talking about eminent domain legislation that will prohibit city governments from taking over private property for economic development purposes, rather than for public purposes. I agree with them. 100%.
In addition, it was Herr Scalia and Uncle Thomas who dissented in the Kelo case last week which dealt with this issue. And I completely agreed with their dissent. In that case it was determined that anyone's property was open to the whim of city government.
I am an Adams. From an old school northeast liberal family. But on this issue and this issue alone I agree with those that I otherwise believe to be scum.
Am I missing something? Or is there some good in even the worst of us?
