(Okay. I mastered the impulse to TYPE IN ALL CAPS. And I cut way back on !!!!!!!!s. But sometimes, I just can't behave. Here's my latest LTE to the Columbus Dispatch.)
Dear Editors:
I respond the Sept. 16 letter, that responded to Jeff Stahler's Sept. 7 Dispatch editorial cartoon. The cartoon depicted former President Clinton teaching President Bush how to show compassion by hugging a hurricane victim. The letter responded by saying Clinton should have been drawn without pants.
How very piquant. Now may I suggest some additional improvements:
- Bush could be going through the victim's pockets, grabbing cash and handing it to V.P. Cheney; representing unbid contracts going to Halliburton.
- Vultures could be circling overhead; representing the bird flu pandemic--the next catastrophe for which the Bush government is totally unprepared.
- In the background, fake White House reporter Jeff Gannon could be depicted giving White House spokeshole Scott McClellan a B. J.; representing fake White House reporter Jeff Gannon giving White House spokeshole Scott McClellan a B. J.
Just a modest suggestion.
