On Friday (and repeated early Sunday morning) CSPAN ran a post-comedy inaugural show which was paid for by The Hotline. Most of the participants were abysmal (that media whore Wonkette stammered, couldn't look the audience in the eye, and could only get laughs when she talked about Kerry's cock -- Marsha Blackburn got 5 times more laughs than she did), but the absolute best was
Brian Baird, Washington Congressman (he represents the place Wicked Witch of Washington Linda Smith used to lord over -- at least they have better taste now).
Baird did a Bush impression and he just
killed. I was on the floor. He had the mannerisms (leaning against the podium, sticking his jaw out, terrible grammar, he even got that weird way Bush says words with a strong "a"), and he had so many great lines -- talking about Jenna not getting a job thanks to NCLB, having a moment of silence for tsunami victims that he immediately started talking over, saying that all you have to do to fool the press is to call something "Operation" (his new one is "Operation Executive Freedom"). I can't even describe it, really. You had to be there.
Did any of you watch this? Is CSPAN going to rerun it?
