Nearly all of us are looking forward to the 2006 elections, when we hope to take back Congress. However, there are local elections taking place in a month. One local contest is the Colonial School District race in Montgomery County, PA. This district has been under exclusive Republican control for years. The Colonial Area Democrats are fielding several candidates to try to bring some bipartisanship to this district. Our website:

Barring impeachment or resignation, we're stuck with Bush until 2008. We don't get to vote Santorum out of office until 2006. But during the next month, we can support - with our dollars and with our shoe leather - the local candidates who will make our local communities more Dem-friendly today, and who will be running for state and national office in years to come.
