FINALLY!
A tiny bit of GOOD news from the NOLA debacle. As we all know, many "pet rescue" groups from around the country went to NOLA after Hurricane Katrina, and rescued pets left behind by their (devastated) owners.
Well, I am happy to REPORT that one family and their pet dog,Ginger, are NEARLY reunited.

I say
nearly reunited, because her humans have been located! But Ginger is in Chicago, and her humans are in Missouri, where they relocated after they lost everything they owned.
The shelter that is currently caring for Ginger is trying to raise money for airfare to reunite this lucky pooch with her now ecstatic family. Oh, and she also has to be spayed, per LA state law, before she can be returned.
THAT'S WHERE Y'ALL COME IN....Yep, you guessed it, they need donations. And after speaking to Mrs. Schleich by phone just now, I'm PROUD to bring you their request.
Cindy was excited to hear about my offer to help, but she also wanted to know a little about me, to add to the ongoing saga. When I mentioned DuPage Co. Democrats & Daily Kos, she was thrilled, as she is also a democrat...And she'll be visiting dKos to consider joining!
OK, now the money part.
All of your generous donations can be sent to the following address:
Almost Home Foundation - "Ginger Fund"
c/o Cornerstone National Bank

Many thanks from me, Ginger, and the many other humans who have helped to pull off this minor miracle.
