Please, please God, let the Republicans bring a change to the mortgage deduction up for a vote.

For the past 8 years the Republicans have been guided by their wacked out economic philosophy to transfer wealth from the poor and the middle class to the rich. Time and again, the help of the MSM, they have fooled the American people into believing that they were looking out for them.
But messing with the income tax deduction, as well as the deducation for health care, would be the delightful last straw. With this in hand, the Dems could raise their sites from "winning a few seats in Congress," to destroying the Neo-Con 'philosophy' once and for all.
Think of it! While the Republicans are cutting taxes on Paris Hilton, they are killing the deduction that so many homeowners in the suburb cherish. Even better, this stupid idea is supported by DINO John Breaux, from Louisiana. Not only can the Progressives use their attack on this on the Republicans, but we could destroy the DINOs and the DLC as well!
We could mount on an assault on the entire ridiculous notion that cutting taxes alone spurs economic growth. Sure, lower taxes are good, but that statement is only true in an intellectual vacuum. In the reality based world, cutting taxes is only one of the tools the government has to both spur GDP growth and RAISE THE STANDARD OF LIVING. And those two things are not necessarily one and the same.
By introducing a reduction in the mortgage deduction, Progressives would have the hammer we need to focus on reality based economic plans. And we'd definitely have the attention and support of every homeowner in the States.
So God, please let the Republicans cut Paris Hilton's taxes while killing the deduction for all of the people who have homes in the suburbs. On that day, truly, you will be bestowing your blessings on the United States of America.
