We all know that the search function for Scoop is...dodgy. And tags, while exciting and lovely, are still getting set up and may not be on the stories we want to find. I would like to remind Kossacks of another method: Google. More below the fold.
Google allows you to restrict a search to a web site by entering this
site:www.dailykos.com in the search field, which yields about 2,170,000 hits. Adding search terms makes it narrower:
site:www.dailykos.com meirs dobson just gives 79 hits, for instance. I tried a single search term that I thought would find one of my own diaries and that diary was in the top three choices.
It is easy and quick to try several combos of terms - you could try five or six in the time that the Scoop search is grinding. If you like the idea, you can bookmark the first search up above in your browser or put this diary on your hot list.
Just for entertainment:
Armando gives ~15,900 hits
Hunter ~12,800
DarkSyde 516
msoc 261
I would be interested to hear how others have used Google for Kos, and whether certain search strategies are particularly helpful for separating the chaff (not that there is any chaff at Kos, of course). Take the poll!
