I have read here, many times, suggestions that Democrats need to run everywhere. And I have seen complaints, here, about races where there are, as yet, no Democratic candidates.
Why don't we run?
I have read here, many times, complaints about the venality of various Democratic officeholders. And I have seen complaints here, many times, about races where these Democrats have no primary opposition.
Why don't we run?
Personally I live in the House district of John Lewis, one of the most forthright, honest Democrats I know of. Neither Senate seat is up, and I have no complaints to register about my city councilwoman or state legislators (from this district).
But you can run.
Do you live in Nevada? Run for Senate.
Is your Congressman a Texas Republican? Run for the House!
Is your state legislator a wingnut? File.
Is your representative a squishy Democrat, a lover and not a fighter?
Take 'em on.
You will probably lose. But as dissatisfaction grows, you may gain traction. It's happened before. We've seen it. It happened to Ginny Schrader. It happened to Paul Hackett.
What do they have that you don't have?
Nothing, so far as I can see.
Except for the fact they ran.
So, run.
