I post quite a bit on a music website,
http://www.rateyourmusic.com. There is a politics board on there, and I valiantly attempt to swat down the lies of the righties who post there.
Today a new person to the site posted what has to be the most unbelieveably uninformed posting I have ever read, and I thought I'd share it with you and ask - are some people really beyond reason? Also, how is it possible that people are STILL being fed these lies and choosing to believe what people like Rush Limbaugh tell them instead of what they can see with their own eyes - even when presented with PROOF to the contrary? I mean, I know these lies were being spread, but I really had no idea that people still believed them!
Here's the posting:
"It is rediculous[sic] to accuse Bush of committing genocide. If you want to find out about real genocide I suggest checking out (website removed for fear that someone might actually look at it]. It is also not Bush's fault that Louisiana has been run by Democrats for at least 60 years. No wonder there is such poverty in Louisiana and the Democratic mayor of New Orleans and governor of Louisiana are totally incompetent. It is the mayor who had enough buses to transport all people out of New Orleans before the storm hit and did not do it. Also, Bush tried to get the governor to declare the state of Louisiana a disaster area before the storm hit, so they could get the military, supplies, and rescue workers in there sooner. It was the governor who would not declare it a disaster area until after the storm hit. It was the state government of Louisiana that would not allow the red cross to bring food and water to the people in the superdome. And it was the state government of Louisiana that had the funds to upgrade the levees so they would be able to withstand a category 5 storm and instead they used the money on other things. None of this is Bush's fault. You put the blame in the wrong place."
