After working for a municipality in the DC-area, namely Loudoun County, I've finally decided to search for a job on, or off, Capital Hill. My job in the recreation field was only a means to secure myself economically while I ponder what I wanted to do. After more than two years, I want out!
Its hard getting a job on the Hill, period. I'm convinced that its about who you know or what your parents do. I've unsuccessfully tried to work for a progressive organization, policymaker, or firm for a few months. I'm now asking help from you all for guidance and professional advice. I don't want to work for a Republican, but I might have to being from Virginia. My congressman is Frank Wolf, a rank-and-file Republican who rarely deviates from the Republican platform. Someone please tell me I don't have to make his coffee every morning...
Thank you in advance to those who post with advice. It is greatly appreciated.
