Update, FEMA sucks, FEMA suck, FEMA suck, FEMA suck, FEMA sucks! If we could possibly have a real election I vote to line all the bastards up and shoot them. I don't have a home, but friend has given me a place to stay and a place to store furninture etc. We have generator, now have AC, H2O, food, work gave me fuel, etc. but will need to make a beer run tomorrow. We have the IE, we have TV. I am sitting just off the Gulf of Mexico just a few miles from
__ where the center of Rita came in and the only damage here is a couple of small pieces of shingles missing.
My place has a very large skylite, and a clear ceiling to look at it. Not rebuildable and probable months before all power and H2O restored. The devestation here is much more than what you see on TV.
There has been some looting, very quickly taken care of. The
__ Fire Dept. came by what is left of my apt. complex today while I was throwing stuff out, they were armed. There will be no NO looting here. Most if not all packing, I am carrying .45 and AK. We take care of ourselves here. I believe mostly a very good effort on local and state behalf. Fuck FEMA.
DO NOT LET shrub get the feds into "disasters" with control. Here is a story from a __ Police Sgt whom I talked to today. He had stored 2 pallets of bottled water at a place called __. All Feds now there. ___ PD never furnished with hot meals, only had one meal of cold cuts. They were on 24 hr shift for 2 days, ran out of H2O. He went to pick up stored h2o, FEMA official tried to stop him. He told him that it was his h20, his city, his PD. FEMA reinforcements showed up, told him to stop loading, unload h20. He told all, "This is my water, this is my city, this is my PD, this is my gun!" He took water. When he came back for 2nd pallet of h2o FEMA had stolen it.
The officials are guarded by a group called ICE. He told them they need their bodyguards. All in all very good response except by FEMA, locals cutting trees opening roads etc. Not waiting for help.
Things could be worse. This ain't NO
