Judge Alito doesn't deserve to be filibustered. He deserves the humiliation of being rejected by the Senate and kicking off Bush's lame duck years. Assuming our coalition holds together, where do we get the other 6 votes from?
A good place to start would be with pro-choice Republicans:
- Susan Collins (ME)
- Olympia Snow (ME)
- Lincoln Chafee (RI)
- Arlen Specter (PA)
Hopefully we can pick the remaining votes from this pool of Republican Senators who represent `blue' states (I've included Ohio because of the scandal factor):
- Judd Greg (NH)
- John Sununu (NH)
- Rick Santorum (PA) (enjoy a good laugh)
- George Voinovich (OH)
- Mike DeWine (OH)
- Norm Coleman (MN)
- Gordon Smith (OR)
Finally - Republican Senators with a conscience:
* John Warner (VA)
Hey, atleast one of them has a conscience!
Share any thoughts or knowledge you might have about these Senators on the issues of abortion, assault weapons rights, civil rights, etc.... Can any of these Senators be pried from the death-grip of the Radical Right?
