On Friday October 28th Richard Clarke appeared on Real Time with Bill Maher and said this:
CLARKE: Oh, yeah, I think the Scooter Libby crowd, the Paul Wolfowitz crowd, the Dick Cheney crowd, told everyone in Washington before they ever got into office, in their essays for the New American Century, that they wanted to do this[Iraq war]. It was no secret. They were going to do it. They were going to find some justification. And they conveniently found one on 9/11. But they would have found another one.
What the does he mean "conveniently found one [justification]." This is a very disturbing piece of information to hear from the former counter-terrorism czar who worked in the Whitehouse before, during, and after 9/11. Any insight into this comment?
