Newsday piece, linked to by Drudge (hint), covers the Mayor's press conference, speaks about the police officers going into the subways, even has a reaction from Republican Rep. King. At the end of the Newsday piece is a total curveball.
MTA officials said they were unaware of the threat until alerted by a reporter.
My reaction on the flip.
If the MTA was unaware that their system was the target of a credible, serious terrorist threat which required the dispatch and reassignment of hundreds of NYPD, then we are some serious trouble here.
Either this is gross manipulation to get Rove out of the news, or this is gross mismanagement (again) of Homeland Security. Both choices reflect a lack of seriousness, and I think some enterprising reporter should get in touch with MTA before the story is completely squashed.
