I went out to get my car tonight and found a surprise from the CA GOP. The whole parking lot at the
Calabasas Commons here in So Cal was covered in big glossy door hangers stuck on people's windshields. Apparently someone with access to large amounts of "The Official California Republican Party Positions" went through the area with their propaganda.
Now as I have some experience canvassing back in Arizona and here I know its illegal to stick campaign material in mailboxes and on cars in parking lots. I called the LA Registrar's office and hope to hear back from them tomorrow.
More on their shenanigans below the fold.
Props 73-80 all have pretty standard blurbs from Arnold's point of view. I don't feel like typing them out so if you really need to read what they are
spewing check their website. I do have to mention their point on Prop 80 because it is just so freakin hilarious.
They claim that energy re-regulation will bring the days of blackouts back to California. According to them regulation will prohibit private companies from securing the best electricity rates. Maybe they should check out what that defunct company named Enron did.
Another thing they put on this garbage is that the bearer should bring the doorhanger to the polling place. I'm not sure about California but if you did that in Arizona they would throw you out for having material within 75 feet of the building.
Finally, there is a postcard you can tear off and send to the local Repub party in case you wanted to help weaken unions of teachers, police and firefighters. Just remember that you need to put a stamp on it, because they are too cheap to pre-pay postage.
