CONGRESSIONAL CANDIDATE BARRY MICHAELS SUPPORTS A NATIONAL REFERENDUM REQUIRING IRAQ TO REPAY THE U.S. $200 BILLION IN RECONSTRUCTION COSTS.
The United States has spent over $200 billion for the reconstruction and defense of Iraq a country that has the third largest oil reserves in the world representing approximately 115 billion barrels worth over $6 trillion dollars.
Congress continues to make significant cuts in programs while raising the national deficit in order to fund this reconstruction. There is no reason why Iraq should not repay this aid from future oil revenues.
